Axo Consulting: Project Monitoring Plus

We are pleased to share that Axo Consulting has been appointed on a new instruction across our full Project Monitoring Plus service, covering monitoring, cost consultancy and development management on a single scheme.

The 'Plus' is what matters, and it is what took us a while to articulate properly.

Most monitoring firms are surveyors. Most cost consultants are surveyors. Most development managers are, you guessed it, surveyors. We are too, and proudly so, but the Axo team is also made up of people who have been main contractors, who have invested their own money into developments and who have run housebuilding operations from the inside. That mix changes how we read a scheme. We have sat in every seat around the table at some point in our careers and we know where the fault lines are.

The other half of the Plus is what sits behind the numbers. We have analysts working alongside the chartered surveyors, which means figures get questioned rather than just passed on. A variance gets chased. A trend gets noticed before it becomes a problem. The report says something you can actually stand behind.

Going the extra mile sounds like a cliché, but in monitoring it has a specific meaning: the question the standard format does not ask, the line in the cost report that does not quite reconcile, the programme assumption that nobody has tested for six months.

Clients tell us it is what they remember, and increasingly it is what they instruct us for.
